Join us for exciting poetry delivered by some extremely talented poets. This month’s reading includes Ilse Pedler, Clare Proctor and Anne Banks.

Ilse Pedler is the winner of the 2015 Mslexia Pamphlet Competition with, The Dogs That Chase Bicycle Wheels. Her first collection Auscultation was published by Seren in 2021. She is the poet in residence at Sidmouth Folk Festival and helps to run Dove Cottage Poets at Wordsworth Grasmere as well as being an experienced workshop facilitator. She lives near Cartmel and still works part-time as a Veterinary Surgeon.

Clare Proctor’s poetry has appeared in magazines including The North, Finished Creatures, Shooter and Poetry Review, as well as in anthologies of Northern Writing from Handstand Press and Saraband.  She was placed second in both the Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year and Ware Poetry competitions, and features as part of Iamb Poetry Seen and Heard, Wave Seven.

Anne Banks lives in Kendal and has been writing off and on since she was a child. Her poems and stories have been performed on stage and in street theatre productions locally and she has had poems published in national anthologies and literary journals. Her pamphlet Loose in the Weave was published in 2023.
