Sam Pratt

Stretching 268 miles along the backbone of England, the Montane Spine Race is one of the country’s most demanding ultramarathons. This is a visual exploration of the race and the landscape through which it passes. Through photography, Sam Pratt documents the physical and emotional extremes of the Spine – from exposed moorland and snow-covered trails to aid stations, tired faces and the intimate rituals of survival. These images form a portrait of an extraordinary journey, and of the relationship between people and landscape at the limits of endurance.

This exhibition is presented by Montane.
