6-9pm | Brewery Arts Bar | Free
The Tuesday Social is our bi-weekly creative gathering in the Brewery Arts bar, taking place every first and third Tuesday of the month. Relaxed, inclusive, and thoughtfully curated, it’s a welcoming space for artists, musicians, creatives, and culture-lovers to connect, share ideas, and enjoy creativity in a sociable setting.
21 April 2026 – Close Quarters
Close Quarters are Sandra & Steve Harrison and Jen Wilson – a Kendal-based a cappella trio known for their rich, natural harmonies. Formed in 2018, their repertoire spans traditional folk, contemporary songs, gospel, maritime and music hall, with plenty of choruses to get audiences singing along.
Regulars on the folk club and festival circuit, they also host a welcoming monthly session in Staveley.
Expect an informal, acoustic gathering of songs, tunes, and spoken word – with opportunities to join in or simply enjoy the music.

5 May 2026 – Jackie, Andy and Friends
Jackie Bateman and Andy Brown play mainly, but certainly not exclusively, traditional Celtic music. They have played Ceilidhs and gigs all over the County with McCoy’s Reel Band (Andy), Jigbusters and Jack O’Dandy. They are well known throughout the county and beyond. They will be joined by a variety of friends to help fuel open sessions of Traditional Music.
Come along for a relaxed, inclusive session – bring your instrument, share a tune, or simply sit back and enjoy. Everyone’s welcome!

16 June 2026 – Close Quarters
7 July 2026 – Lakeland Fiddlers
The Lakeland Fiddlers are a friendly, community-led band that formed over a decade ago from an Adult Education class at Brewery Arts. They’ve since become a familiar presence at local festivals, fairs and galas across the region – and now return to their roots with a regular Tuesday Social session.
Their repertoire centres on traditional Lake District fiddle tunes, while still leaving room for a wide range of musical influences and shared favourites. Rooted in local heritage but open in spirit, the group celebrates the joy of playing together and keeping these tunes alive.
Come along and join in for a fun, inclusive session – bring your instrument, share a tune, or simply sit back and enjoy the music. Everyone’s welcome!
