7-10pm | Brewery Arts Bar | Free
The Tuesday Social is our bi-weekly creative gathering in the Brewery Arts bar, taking place every first and third Tuesday of the month. Relaxed, inclusive, and thoughtfully curated, it’s a welcoming space for artists, musicians, creatives, and culture-lovers to connect, share ideas, and enjoy creativity in a sociable setting.
7 July 2026 – Lakeland Fiddlers
The Lakeland Fiddlers are a friendly, community-led band that formed over a decade ago from an Adult Education class at Brewery Arts. They’ve since become a familiar presence at local festivals, fairs and galas across the region – and now return to their roots with a regular Tuesday Social session.
Their repertoire centres on traditional Lake District fiddle tunes, while still leaving room for a wide range of musical influences and shared favourites. Rooted in local heritage but open in spirit, the group celebrates the joy of playing together and keeping these tunes alive.
Come along and join in for a fun, inclusive session – bring your instrument, share a tune, or simply sit back and enjoy the music. Everyone’s welcome!

21 July 2026 – Close Quarters
Jen Wilson, Sandra and Steve Harrison are “Close Quarters” a trio from Kendal/Staveley who sing acapella. Their repertoire includes songs from the tradition, contemporary writers, gospel, maritime and music hall – all sung with intuitive natural harmonies. They encourage their audience to sing with them, so many of their songs have a chorus or refrain. Steve has written several
of the songs which feature in their repertoire, with subjects as diverse as walking routes, power stations and mining.
They appear at various folk clubs and festivals throughout the year and have hosted a successful monthly folk club in Staveley since 2016. They welcome contributors who have short stories, poems and tunes to offer. Appreciative listeners and audience are always welcome to enjoy the talents of the performers

4 August 2026 – Folk In The Fells
