Make the most of November with our packed programme of live music, comedy, cinema, festivals and more!
We have a fantastic line-up of live music this month, with Ferocious Dog, Cut Capers, Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet, Hayden Thorpe, Mad Dog Mcrea and Zion Train bringing everything from folk-punk and funk to jazz and dub. Plus, enjoy Joni Mitchell classics with Hejira, the music of Prefab Sprout with Martin McAloon, and performances from Ultimate Coldplay and Focus.
Comedy fans are in for a treat too, with Ian Stone and Larry Dean bringing their latest shows to our stage. November also sees the return of Kendal Mountain Festival (19-22 November), taking over our venue for four days of adventure, nature and exploration, followed by Craft Market Kendal (27-29 November), showcasing talented makers and contemporary art, craft and design.
In our Sugar Store and Foyer Galleries, Kendal Mountain Festival’s annual exhibition opens on 4 November, bringing inspiring artwork to our walls throughout the month.
Over in the Cinema, Cine-Macabre comes to a close, alongside the French Film Festival, Beyond Horizons and Stage on Screen. Get hands-on with our Creative Learning workshops, or join us for live music and community events through Brewery Social.

Martin McAloon of Prefab Sprout: Steve McQueen – Slight Return

Martin McAloon celebrates Prefab Sprout’s landmark album Steve McQueen, performing it in full alongside favourites from across the band’s celebrated catalogue. Expect a captivating evening of timeless melodies, exquisite songwriting and some of the finest pop ever created.

Craft Market Kendal

A vibrant three-day celebration of contemporary art, craft and design, bringing together around 40 talented makers from Cumbria, the North of England and beyond.

Cinema
Our Cine-Macabre season draws to a close this November with two psychological thrillers: Manhunter – 40th Anniversary Director’s Cut (4 November) and The Silence of the Lambs – 35th Anniversary (10 November). Plus, join us for It’s Nice Up North (14 November), followed by a special Q&A with Graham Fellows.
Our Stage on Screen programme brings world-class theatre and opera to the big screen, including National Theatre Live: Golden Boy (from 5 November), Carmen – The Royal Opera (10 November) and GIANT – The Play (from 26 November).
There’s plenty more to discover with the French Film Festival, bringing a diverse selection of French cinema to our screens throughout November. Meanwhile, our Beyond Horizons season continues with 3000 Feet + Q&A (11 November) and We, The Hated (25 November), exploring environmental and social issues through thought-provoking storytelling.

Creative Learning
Get creative this November with a range of workshops and courses. Make something special for the festive season with Lino Cut Christmas Cards (7 November), where you’ll learn a new skill and create your own handmade Christmas cards. Or take your artistic skills to the next level with our Life Drawing Masterclass (14 November), exploring observational drawing and measuring techniques.
Throughout the month, our regular youth courses continue to welcome young creatives. Art Explorers (7+ years) offers home-educated young people the chance to experiment with mixed-media art in a sociable setting, while Brewery Youth Film Crew (11+ years) gives budding filmmakers the opportunity to develop skills both in front of and behind the camera.
There’s plenty of opportunity to get moving too! Our regular movement classes offer something for all ages, from Get Moving for adults to Mini Movers for little ones, providing a fun and welcoming space to explore movement, build confidence and connect with others.
