Cult horror, supernatural cinema and big-screen scares come to Brewery Arts this autumn, with horror favourites, Halloween classics and eerie ghost stories made for the dark.
The Omen – 50th Anniversary
7 October | 8.15pm
Celebrate 50 years of a horror classic as an American diplomat begins to suspect that a terrifying truth lies behind the mysterious deaths surrounding his young son, Damien.
Dog Soldiers
14 October | 8.15pm
A routine military exercise in the Scottish Highlands becomes a fight for survival when a squad of soldiers discovers they are not alone in the wilderness.
Zombie Flesh Eaters
22 October | 8.15pm
Lucio Fulci’s notorious cult classic brings the undead to the big screen in a gloriously gruesome tale of a Caribbean island overrun by flesh-eating zombies.
Hocus Pocus & Frightful Family Crafts

Something wicked this way comes! Join the Sanderson sisters for the Halloween favourite Hocus Pocus, with Frightful Family Crafts bringing even more spooky fun to Brewery Arts.

Trick ’r Treat

A series of interwoven tales unfolds across one Halloween night, as the residents of a small town discover the deadly consequences of breaking its oldest traditions. Ghosts, goblins and a sinister trick-or-treater bring the night’s darkest superstitions to life.
Halloween
31 October | 8.15pm
Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night, Michael Myers escapes from custody and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield. As he begins stalking a new group of victims, one of horror’s most iconic killers takes centre stage.
The Uninvited + Kendal Ghost Walk
1 November | Ghost Walk 5.15pm, Film 7pm
Join Simon Kurt Unsworth for a 75-minute walk through Kendal’s darker history, uncovering local ghost stories and spooky legends before returning to Brewery Arts for a screening of The Uninvited (1944).
In the film, a brother and sister buy an old house on the English coast, only to discover that its tragic past may not be as distant as they thought.
Manhunter – 40th Anniversary
4 November | 7.45pm
Michael Mann’s psychological thriller returns in a new Director’s Cut and 4K restoration, as FBI profiler Will Graham hunts a brutal serial killer with help from imprisoned murderer Hannibal Lecktor.
The Silence of the Lambs – 35th Anniversary
11 November
FBI trainee Clarice Starling is sent to interview imprisoned psychiatrist and killer Hannibal Lecter, hoping his insight can help solve a new murder case.
Make a night of it and dine in the Brewery Arts Restaurant before or after your screening. Enjoy a warm welcome at our Bar & Restaurant, where local produce from the Lakes takes centre stage, with seasonal dishes, sharing plates and plant-based or gluten-free options.
