Brighter days are on the way, and this April, we’ve got a fantastic line-up ready to bring you memorable moments – from live music to Easter holiday fun.
Our music programme features folk and country favourites like Kris Drever, Oysterband’s John Jones with Ray Cooper and Al Scott, Mishra ft. Deepa Shakthi, Butler, Blake & Grant, and Joshua Radin. Alongside them, discover fresh, experimental sounds from Laetitia Sadier, Jane Weaver, Future Creatives: Maya Kally + Clara Pople, and Manu Delago & Max ZT. Plus, crowd-pleasers Dub Pistols, ABBA Reunion, LYR, and LOVE with Johnny Echols round off the month.
With the Easter holidays fast approaching, there’s plenty for families too. Enjoy a seriously silly afternoon with Olaf Falafel (1 April), or step into a magical world with A Big Egg (9 April).
On the big screen, head into space with Mario in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, alongside a mix of Stage on Screen and Cinema Rewind favourites.
On stage, Simon Yates shares stories from his mountaineering adventures, and Verbalise welcomes award-winning poet Rosy Carrick.

Mishra ft. Deepa Shakthi

Join us for an evening brimming with multilingually reimagined folk songs, new compositions, and swirling Celtic melodies underpinned by hypnotic qawwali grooves. When Mishra and Deepa get on stage together, their joyous performances are a journey of contrasts, from hand-clapping trance-like sufi songs to spacious stillness and reflection.

Celebrated for his warm voice, virtuosically expressive guitar playing and imaginative and evocative songwriting, Drever has carved out a unique place at the intersection of traditional folk and modern acoustic music.

ABBA Reunion

Here we go again! Superbly accurate vocals, harmonies, guitar, keyboards, plus back line musicians combined with stunning iconic replica costumes, choreography and set produce the most authentic and requested Abba tribute show in the world today.

Future Creatives: Maya Kally + Clara Pople

Join us for an evening of conversation, informal networking and live performances by musicians Maya Kally and Clara Pople. Maya Kally is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and composer, with influences ranging from folk to jazz, Country, and indie. Clara Pople is a Celtic/trip-pop singer whose music fuses worlds – ancient and urban, ethereal and raw.
Future Creatives is a free event for anyone interested in music and the creative industries – we particularly encourage people aged 18-30 to attend.

Legends Of American Country Show

Simon Yates of Touching the Void: Pleasure and Pain

Mountaineer Simon Yates is a veteran of over eighty expeditions to high and remote mountains around the globe. This is his story of the last decade, of new adventures and climbs in the far north and south, along with summits in South America, Central Asia and the Himalayas.

Cinema
Step into cinematic worlds this April at Brewery Arts. This Easter, journey back to Middle-earth with an epic all-day screening of The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, shown back-to-back on the big screen.
Our Cinema Rewind series brings a selection of beloved classics, from the carefree charm of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to the whimsical beauty of Amélie (25th Anniversary), alongside Stand By Me, and Akira.
Experience storytelling from some of the world’s most celebrated stages, with Evgenij Onegin: Tchaikovsky from Teatro alla Scala (15 April), National Theatre Live: All My Sons (from 16 April), and The Royal Opera’s The Magic Flute (from 21 April).
Plus, don’t miss a special preview screening of The North (1 April), following two friends retracing a 350-mile journey along the West Highland Way and Cape Wrath Trail in a moving story of friendship and time.

Food & Drink
Our Bar & Restaurant celebrates the flavours of the Lakes with seasonal menus, craft beers and locally sourced ingredients. Drop in before a show, after a workshop, or for a slow morning coffee, and soak up the atmosphere at Brewery Arts.
When the sun’s out, make the most of Kendal’s largest beer garden – the perfect spot to enjoy everything from local craft beers and wines to refreshing soft drinks and non-alcoholic options.
