The first of four Future Creatives sessions, join us for an evening of conversation, informal networking and live performances by musicians Maya Kally and Clara Pople.

Future Creatives is a free event for anyone interested in music and the creative industries. We particularly encourage people aged 18-30 to attend. We want to ensure young people have opportunities to learn about creative careers and the people behind them.

This event is part of Cumbria Arts & Culture Network’s See It To Be It programme, a brand new project to help more young Cumbrians build careers in the creative industries.

Entry is free, but sign-up is required – click book now for your free ticket.

About the Artists

Maya Kally is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and composer, with influences ranging from folk to jazz, country, and indie. Maya studied jazz vocals and classical piano at Leeds Conservatoire. After moving back to London, she focused on lyricism and poetry, and then explored ideas of stillness in her compositions.

Maya’s debut EP, ‘A Window Left Open’, will be released on 20th March 2026. The record explores themes of illness, addiction, heartbreak, loneliness, the passing of time, and their interest in country music.

‘Fantastic new talent!’ – Amazing Radio {Another Time}
‘Incredible. Deep and intellectual soul-jazz music for modern-day issues.’ – Esquire Thailand {We’re Waiting}
‘Beautiful moments on this delightful creation’ – Jazz FM {We’re Waiting}
‘Sensational’ – BBC Music Introducing {Chose To Stay}
‘Divine Single’ – BBC Radio 6 Music {Chose To Stay}
‘Devastatingly beautiful’ – BBC Music Introducing {Look Up}

Clara Pople is a Celtic/trip-pop singer whose music fuses worlds – ancient and urban, ethereal and raw. A classically trained vocalist with Scottish roots and Cumbrian beginnings, she loops ghostly Celtic folk melodies to the shadowy pulse of trip-hop. Think stormy coastlines tangled with city sirens…

Her voice – part choirgirl clarity, part smoky soul – has drawn comparisons to London Grammar, Massive Attack, and Florence & The Machine.
