Tutor Gill Ferguson | Fee £62 | 1 session
This workshop is an ideal introduction to needle felting, demonstrating how you can sculpt with fleece to make blackbirds and their nests.
We will spend the morning making blackbirds and in the afternoon you can either make nests and eggs for them or another bird.
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
• Which fleece is most suitable for needle felting
• How to break down the blackbird into its constituent shapes, and how to sculpt the fleece into these shapes, and then join them together to build up the form of the bird.
You will be taught through demonstration, one to one tuition, group discussion and a handout that will be provided. The classes have a relaxed atmosphere, and all are suitable for beginners.
What do I need to bring with me?
A photo or picture of a Blackbird to work from.
Bring along needle felting equipment if you have it, if not Gill will have equipment with her.
Please bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them.
Are there any additional costs?
All materials and equipment are provided to enable you to make a blackbird and nest. If you want to add pieces of moss and twigs to the nest, bring these along.
If you would like to make additional items, materials can be purchased directly from Gill on the day.
