Etching Day Course Information
A fascinating etching workshop allowing you to work on your own zinc plates, experimenting with hard and soft grounds, then adding tone using aquatint techniques. Another exciting printmaking class from the Brewery.
Karen has enjoyed working with different media over the last 20 years, culminating in exhibitions at galleries in Lancashire and Cumbria. Whilst studying for a Foundation Degree in Drawing with the University of Cumbria, she developed her interest in printmaking, using printed images in installation work and experimenting with techniques such as sandblasting Perspex plates for printing.
She produces prints inspired by different sources from the Cumbrian landscapes to the styles of the 1970s, the taxidermy collections at Kendal Museum and the natural world of the forest.
