Advanced Spanish is a course is for those who can hold conversations in Spanish but want to feel more confident in their own abilities. You would like to express and justify your opinions and own ideas and manipulate the language to do so.
We will look into the history, social events, cultural events, economic issues and politics of Spain & Latin America today.

What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
The course will be based around reading texts on up-to-date events in Spain and Latin America or even worldwide in order to discuss the issues in the classroom.
Grammar points on verbs including subjunctive, prepositions, pronouns and others will be revisited.
We will split the teaching time into listening exercises, conversation & games activities to develop your oral skills, reading tasks and some grammar explanations.
This course is suitable for those who either have studied Spanish for more than 5/6 years, lived in Spain, have GCSE or equivalent qualifications.
We are moving upwards to an A level or B2/C1in the European language ladder.
Your tutor will discuss the course content with the class and may make some adjustments to the syllabus based on the needs of the group. She will also try to accommodate individual requirements where possible.

About the tutor
Pilar Valera graduated in Politics and has taught for more than 20 years from beginners to advance level. Exam and non-exam courses and a range of ages and abilities. She is from Madrid and although she lives in Kendal she runs study-breaks in Spain for adults and summer courses for children.
