An opportunity for people with some experience to develop drawing and/or painting direct from a life model. Explore and develop your techniques as well as new approaches to life drawing on an individual basis and within the disciplined tradition of a life room.
These sessions are untutored and are supervised by artist Catherine MacDiarmid.

In line with current government guidance, this class will be limited in numbers due to social distancing measures. A priority booking period will be available to those who currently or have recently attended life drawing classes at the Brewery.
Places for those new to the class are subject to availability; any remaining places will go on general sale online on 5 June.
What do I need to bring with me?
Drawing boards and easels will be provided. Please bring all other materials with you.
When using art materials your clothes could potentially get dirty so you may wish to bring an apron and/or dress for mess.
Please note that in line with current government safety guidelines the windows will remain open for ventilation so you may wish to bring an extra warm layer.

About the supervisor
Catherine MacDiarmid is a local artist who has exhibited widely, including exhibiting in the BP Portrait award for young artists in 2001/2. She is an elected member of
The Lakes Artists Society and appeared in Sky Portrait Artists of the Year 2014, 2018 reaching the semi-finals in 2019. As well as completing private portrait commissions her work is in collected internationally, and works from her home based studio in Kendal. Her art work focuses on the human form, exploring expression and movement in both drawing & painting. www.catherinemacdiarmid.co.uk

Audio Description (AD) is available in Screen 1. Infrared audio system is available in both Cinema Screens 1 and 2. Induction loops (T) are in place in the Theatre, please ask for assistance on the door.
Some live events may carry strict age restrictions, these are outlined on our website. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times during evening events.
