Stained Glass – Copper Foil | Sat 10 Feb | 12-4pm | £37.50 | 16+ yrs | Tutor Sarah Walkey | Studio 2
A relaxed and informal workshop with our resident glass artist Sarah Walkley in which participants will explore copper foil techniques – a technique not used within our weekly stained and fused glass courses.
What will the class cover and how will it be taught?
You will make a small mobile or suncatcher in the afternoon. You will be taught how to cut glass into shapes which you will wrap in adhesive copper foil. You will then solder your pieces together and attach a hook to hang your work. It may be possible to make more than one item during this workshop.
Who is it suitable for?
Anyone with an interest in Stained and Fused glass who would like to explore the medium of copper foiling
Are there any additional costs?
A small material cost is paid directly to the course tutor depending on what is used – this is confirmed with the tutor upon beginning the course.
About the tutor
Sarah Walkley trained at Vetrate Artistiche Toscana in Siena 1994-1995 and had a stained glass studio in London for several years before setting up a business in Kendal. During this time, Sarah developed a specialist range of fused glass; Sarah Bibet Fused Glass, which sells online and to local shops. Sarah has been teaching her skills to classes for 28 years.
