“A pearl in the jazz catch of the day ★★★★” (NRC, NL), the Sam Newbould Quintet is an award winning five piece international group emerging from the vibrant Amsterdam jazz scene. Described as “mindblowing, sometimes introverted and intimate and then exuberant again” (SWN T alent Award, NL), their music combines virtuosity with driving grooves and playful melodies that stick in your head. The quintet won the prestigious Keep an Eye Records in 2019 and have performed on major stages including North Sea Jazz Festival, Love Supreme (UK), BIMHUIS, and the Vortex (UK).

The band are touring Europe supporting the release of their third album ‘Homing’ (ZenneZ Records). The lineup features Bernard van Rossum (tenor saxophone), Xavi Torres (piano), Jort Terwijn (bass) and Guy Salamon (drums).
