Welcome to Poetry Club! A space for poets and creatives to share their Spoken Word work and explore featured poets from across the country. Born from our popular Verbalise events, Poetry Club offers a relaxing and inspiring evening. Sign up and take part, or sit back and enjoy!

28 October – Slambria ft REMa Grace Gifford
Come and watch nine exciting poets contend for this year’s Slambria title!
Round 1: Performers will have 3 minutes on the mic to impress with their original words and engaging performances.
Round 2: Features the 4 performers with the highest scores from Round 1.
Round 3: Will be the highest scoring 2 performers from Round 2.
All work is original and written on this year’s National Poetry Day theme of Wonder.
The overall winner will receive the slam trophy and a paid spot at Poetry Club in 2027.
Last year, REMa Grace Gifford won our inaugural Slambria Poetry Slam with a fantastic beat poem about a nightclubbing slug! Her prize was to come back as a featured poet, and she’s not one to miss!
REMa Grace, The Entangled Artist, will be previewing the opening 30 mins of an emergent project ‘The Entangled Way’ an immersive experience for deepening connection with our earth & other species. The performance will weave together eco-poetics, soundscape, & field recordings of Cumbrian landscapes.
