Mon 11 Jan to Mon 8 Feb 2021 | 7-8pm | 16yrs + | £32 (5 weeks) | Tutor Eric Pye
This five-week online course is designed to develop your skills with Photoshop, but not just for a quick-fix, after-the-event set of adjustments, but how to incorporate its use so that you can create expressive photographs.
What will be covered?
We start by talking about what you do in the field and how visualisation of the desired outcome before you press the shutter can help; encouraging you to think about what you would like to create and the steps needed to achieve that. You will then work on importing files onto your computer using Lightroom (the principles shown apply to other software too), evaluating what you have and the steps needed to get to what you want.
During the sessions you will learn how to use a variety of Photoshop techniques, such as the use of layers, adjustment panels and dodging and burning to make large and small-scale adjustments to your images. Although by no means a comprehensive guide to Photoshop, it will give you the basic skills required to transform your images and the knowledge and confidence to extend your learning when you are ready.
Important Information
A zoom link will be sent on receipt of booking.
What do I need?
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom: the latter is useful but not essential.
Are there any additional costs?
No
About the tutor
Eric is a photographer who likes to combine his love of the outdoors with a desire to produce something creative. He likes to try and convey something about the places in his images and does this with traditional landscape shots as well as more abstract ideas using camera movement and multiple exposures. As well as creating his own images, Eric now puts his years as a school teacher to good use teaching
photography to groups, individuals and here at the Brewery. Eric is also a qualified Mountain Leader (Summer) Assessed.
