A More Honest Politics: how much do we need it and how is it possible?

Join us to help create a better politics. This event begins with a short talk by best-selling author Prof. Mike Berners-Lee, who will present ideas from his new book, A Climate of Truth, which explores how truth is at the centre of our current polycrisis. It will be followed by a chaired cross-party panel discussion on the standards of honesty in British politics and how the bar can be raised to a higher level than we have ever known. There will be an extensive audience Q&A to explore what all of us can do, regardless of our political inclinations, to bring this about and with it, a step-change in the quality of political decision-making.

Jennifer Nadel will chair the event. She is a Co-Founder of the UK-based cross-party think tank, Compassion in Politics which has led the campaign for a law against political deception. She’s also Director of Compassionate Politics at Stanford University. A non-practicing barrister, author, strategist, keynote speaker and award-winning television journalist (ex BBC, Channel Four News and ITN), her books include: Sunday Times bestseller, WE: A Manifesto for Women Everywhere (written with Gillian Anderson) and How Compassion can Transform our Politics, Economy and Society.

Books will also be available for purchase and signing after the Q&A.
