This introduction to stained glass course is designed to teach all the basic skills you need to make a small stained glass panel.
What will the class cover and how will it be taught?
You will be shown how to cut glass and will spend a while practising before choosing your own design (provided) and cutting out the design using the coloured glass provided. You will then be shown how to join your pieces together using lead. You will then solder all the lead joints to finish your panel.
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for beginners.
What do I need to bring?
All tools and materials are provided, students don’t need to bring anything.
Are there any additional costs?
The cost of the materials is £15 payable to the tutor on the day, cash preferred or BACS.
About the tutor
Sarah Walkley trained at Vetrate Artistiche Toscana in Siena between 1994-1995. She had a stained glass studio in London for several years before settling up business in Kendal and developing a specialist fused glass range named Sarah Bibet Fused Glass, which she now sells online and to local shops. Sarah has been teaching her skills to classes for 30 years.
