About the tutor
Lela Harris is an award-winning, Kendal based, artist, whose practice is rooted in close observation and emotional resonance. Creatively curious by nature, her work is inspired by her imagination, historical research, documentary photography and the possibilities of different mediums, techniques and surfaces; resulting in an eclectic mix of work with a strong focus on portraiture.
Harris’s solo show ‘Held’ will be exhibited at Brewery Arts from 6 Feb – 2 May 2026. Unfolding across fractured paper panels, the show focuses on the intimate dialogue between self and the landscape. Through fluid ink marks and layered washes, Harris explores landscapes not as static backdrops but as living spaces of connection and care.
