Family Fridays: Pottery | Fri 7 Jul | 6-7.30pm | £40 One Adult & One Young Person | 12+ yrs | Tutor Chris Barnes | Studio 3
This fun and intensive workshop is part of the brand-new Family Fridays series of workshops at Brewery Arts, which focus on different areas of artistic practice. Family Fridays: Pottery will concentrate on hand-building and basic forming techniques, and is suitable for any ability, from complete beginners to those looking to improve existing pottery skills.
This workshop is suitable for family members who would love to spend some creative time together and have always wanted to try clay hand-building. Participants will create an animal sculpture and/or a piece of pottery, vase jug or mug which they can take away at the end of the session, or taken away at a later date if glazing and firing is required (work must be clearly identified with the maker’s initials).
If you would like to book as a family or group of friends, please contact the Learning and Engagement Manager claire.williams@breweryarts.co.uk for further information.
What will the workshop cover and how will it be taught?
The workshop will consist of tailored help and instruction designed to generally improve the clay hand-building technique individually, focussing on areas specifically chosen by each student
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a clean apron and/or wear old but clean clothes. Bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them. It is advisable to keep fingernails short and trimmed when working with clay.
All tools, equipment and clay are included.
