This fun, festive and exploration-focused workshop is part of the new Family Fridays series of workshops at Brewery Arts, which focus on different areas of artistic practice.
Family Friday: Ceramic Christmas Plates is a one-day workshop, during which participants will create their own festive plate, perfect for Santa’s mince pies, Rudolph’s carrots, and festive snacks for the family to share!
This workshop is suitable for family members who would love to spend some creative time together and have always wanted to try working with clay.
This session is fun and informal, designed to be attended by an adult/child duo and the ticket price is for 2 people.
What will the class cover and how will it be taught?
Through both group and one-to-one tutoring, alongside practical demonstrations, participants will learn how to work with clay. This session is gentle and informal, allowing a parent and child team to create Ceramic Christmas Plates that can be used for family gatherings, or, for that well-loved tradition of leaving out a mince pie for Santa!
Each participant will create one plate. Please note that firing is required and you will need to collect your piece at a date specified by the Creative Learning Team, ahead of Christmas.

All abilities are welcome.
What do I need to bring?
All equipment and materials are provided, but please be aware clay can be messy!

About the tutors
You’ll be working with our Creative Learning Team, a Team that boasts professional makers, artists, and creatives from a wide variety of backgrounds. The team has extensive experience with the medium you will be working in and will be on hand to support all your needs, and questions.
