Beginners Guide to Digital Photography

Learn about digital photography and how to get the most out of your camera. Learn about camera settings and post processing techniques, lighting and composition.

You will learn about your camera’s different shooting modes, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual mode, how and when to use each. Get to know your cameras different focusing and metering modes and how to use post processing software to make your pictures really stand out from the crowd. You will be taught using demonstrations, lectures and assignments.

This course is suitable for beginners and those seeking a refresher course to regain skills in photography.

What do I need to bring with me?

Your own digital camera and SD card. (A laptop, Mac or iPad to use for photo editing is a plus but not essential.)

Important Information

This course will be held in the Warehouse. There are no sessions during half term 26-30 October & 16-20 November.

About the Tutor

Liam is a local photographer and film-maker. His work has been shown nationally and internationally. His most recent project is a film about boat building commissioned by Windermere Jetty Museum.
