Cine-Social | Wed 6 Dec | Wed 17 Jan | Wed 14 Feb | 6.30-9pm | PAYG £9.50 | 18+ yrs | Facilitator Rachel Jessett | Digital Lounge
The once-a-month Cine-Social club is a fantastic and informal way for film lovers to watch curated films and meet like-minded people in our brand-new, luxurious, state-of-the-art Digital Lounge.
In each monthly session, three films are shortlisted by the facilitator under a theme, (see below for each of this term’s chosen themes.
At the beginning of each session, the three films will be presented and then put to a vote by the members. The film with the most votes is then screened.
The shortlisted films range across a diverse mixture of time periods, countries/languages, genres (excluding horror), and a variety of directors. This is not only to present a new selection of films to the group but also to ensure there is a good variation to appeal to everyone.
All levels and areas of interest in film are welcome at Cine-Social. No prior knowledge of the films/directors is needed, just an interest in seeing something new. Whether you are a fan of cinema, or you just love the social aspect of talking about films, this club is for you.
Often we can put off watching cinema that we know is important or classic, simply because the films are just too long (2.5+ hours). This month we have a great opportunity to invest some time into a long film, made better with by the big screen and a trip to the bar and restaurant in a well-timed interval!
Important Information
The end time of each session may vary according to the film duration.
Are there any additional costs?
Drinks and snacks will be available in the Cinema Kiosk and in the Bar & Restaurant to enjoy both during the film, as well as during the informal discussion after the screening. Drinks and snacks are not included in the ticket price.
