Our once-a-month Social Cine-Club club is a fantastic and informal way for film lovers to meet like-minded people! Come and watch a curated selection of films in our state-of-the-art, comfortable, and cosy Digital Lounge, followed by discussion in the Brewery Arts bar.
In each monthly session, three films are shortlisted by the facilitator under changing themes.

At the beginning of each session the three films will introduced and members will vote on which they would like to watch that evening. Shortlisted films will range across a diverse mixture of time periods, countries/languages, genres (except horror), and will be from a variety of directors. This ensures exciting variation and offers something that everyone in the group will enjoy, but will also introduce the members to new favourites they may never have chosen for themselves.

People of all backgrounds and levels of film knowledge are welcome — we are just looking for those with an interest in seeing something new. Whether you are a fan of cinema, arts and culture more generally, or you just love the social aspect of talking about movies, this club is for you!

July’s Theme: ‘A Work of Art’

As an introduction to our new Facilitator, Meg, and her artist’s background, this initial month’s films will all reference the visual arts in some capacity.

Important Information
The end time of each session may vary according to the film duration, and how long the discussion continues!

Are there any additional costs?
Drinks and snacks will be available in the Cinema Kiosk and in the Bar & Restaurant to enjoy both during the film, as well as during the informal discussion after the screening. Drinks and snacks are not included in the ticket price.

About the facilitator
Meg has worked at Brewery Arts for almost a year now, and you may recognise her from visits to the cinema or our live music, theatre, and comedy events. She studied Fine Arts, with a BA from Lancaster University and Masters in Drawing from Paris College of Art. Meg has worked across many areas of the Arts and Culture sector: as a Costumer for opera, an Editor for writing journals, a Stage Manager for contemporary dance, and an Archivist in local museums to name a few! This broad experience will make its way into the selected films and discussion, which will be selected for their narrative, visual, production, and content quality.
