10-14 August 2026 | 7-14yrs | 9.30-3.30pm | Mon – Fri

Arts Unleashed is a hands-on week of Visual Art and Craft activities for young people. A chance to express yourself, go wild and make new friends!

The programme will be run by local artists, Lucy Wright, Amy Williams, Grace Herron and Emma Johnson, with whom the participants will explore the theme of ‘Adventures’, taking influence from the Young Artist Open Exhibition, showing at the time of the Summer Camp week in Brewery Arts Sugar Store Gallery. The participants will take part in a series of workshops, exploring a range of 2D & 3D media and ideas, such as painting and printmaking, as well as textiles and sculpture.

The work created will be exhibited, at the end of the week, in the Foyer Gallery. The Arts Unleashed Exhibition will be open to the public until the end of October. There will be a private view for family and friends on Friday 14 August from 2.30-3.30pm.

All young people will achieve a Discover Arts Award and receive a certificate from Trinity College London as part of the week.

Join us, meet new friends and old, and have something wonderful to exhibit at the end. Find out more about the exhibition here.

Tutors Info:

Lucy Wright is a Lake District-based fine artist and ceramicist whose work speaks of nature and the interplay between the wild and the human. Playful, delicate and infinitely beautiful, her work is intriguing and often whimsical with a warmth and humour which speaks to the heart. Lucy’s ceramic assemblage pieces are created through introducing often opposing, found and re-purposed objects to support or highlight a ceramic sculpture at the centre. Lucy studied fine art at Lancaster University, achieving a first-class degree and is now exhibiting in galleries across the country.

Amy Williams is a professional artist and experienced facilitator known for her inspiring large scale paper installations and giant parade puppets. She has delivered significant commissions for Blackwell Arts and Crafts, Rheged and Lowther Castle. Amy has a BA (Hons) in Sculpture and an MA in Illustration, and has recently been awarded Arts Council funding to develop her practice with a focus on using sustainable materials. She enjoys delivering projects within the local community and developing creativity in others.
