We’re turning up the volume with a bold summer season celebrating sound in all its forms – from traditional folk and soul to pioneering electronica and cutting-edge indie, Brewery Arts brings vibrant and groundbreaking live music across all genres to Cumbria this summer season.
At the heart of Summer Sounds is a truly special performance from soul legend P.P. Arnold (8 May). Her “Soul Survivor” piano duo show offers an intimate evening of music and storytelling, featuring iconic tracks like The First Cut Is The Deepest and Angel Of The Morning. Expect powerful vocals, rich history, and a rare chance to hear these songs up close.
The following night (9 May), we welcome Badly Drawn Boy for a unique live and in-conversation event with Chris Hawkins. Blending acoustic performance with candid storytelling, this is a rare insight into the creative world of one of the UK’s most cherished songwriters.

Folk fans are in for a treat with Session A9 (14 May), a powerhouse ensemble often dubbed a “Scottish Supergroup,” known for their electrifying musicianship and joyful, high-energy performances. Later in the summer, Ye Vagabonds (4 June) bring their beautifully layered harmonies and richly textured arrangements.
If it’s high-octane energy you’re after, don’t miss Peat & Diesel (26 May), whose unstoppable live shows are packed with anthems, humour and crowd-pleasing chaos. And for something completely different, The Orb (30 May) take over with an immersive journey through ambient house and electronic soundscapes – perfect for those looking to lose themselves in the music.

Indie and alternative sounds also take centre stage this season. She Drew The Gun (12 June) delivers a powerful fusion of electronica, hip-hop and poetic lyricism, tackling big ideas with bold, uncompromising style.
And rounding off the summer, Hue and Cry (18 July) bring their unmistakable sound and chart-topping hits to Brewery Arts. With a career spanning decades, their live shows are a celebration of enduring songwriting and soulful pop.
