New Partnership with Band on the Wall

Published on 11th April 2023

We are proud to have forged a new partnership with Band on the Wall, to grow an even bigger and bolder live music programme for Kendal.

Band on the Wall present an internationally-acclaimed programme of music events in its award-winning Manchester venue and externally at venues across the UK.

The partnership will see Hannah Flynn, Programme Manager at Brewery Arts, collaborate with Santana Guérout, Chief of Programming at Band on the Wall, to increase the scale and scope of the year-round programme at Brewery Arts.

Hannah, said: “Partnering with Band on the Wall has provided Kendal with some incredible talent in the past and we look forward to developing this brilliant connection as we move into the future”.

Brewery Arts previously worked with Band on the Wall, from 2009-2020, joining forces to present major acts, such as John Martyn, Fat White Family, Craig Charles, Tim Burgess and many more.

Band on the Wall was at the centre of Manchesters famed post-punk scene in the late 1970s when Buzzcocks, the Fall and Joy Division played some of their earliest gigs at the venue. In 2022 the venue underwent a £3.5m physical transformation.

Santana, said: We are really excited to renew our partnership with Brewery Arts with the opportunity to bring some amazing artist to Kendal again.

“Along with the transformation of the building, we have transformed the organisation, refocusing our mission on celebrating the music of all the diverse communities of the UK.”
