MINT: CFF Guo Ran 果然

MINT Chinese Film Festival
Saturday 7th March 2026

Through the theme of time, the movie looks closely at a woman who is about to become a mother and presents this journey of gain and loss in her life.

Programme Strand: C-FILMS IN FOCUS

Curators’ notes: Sunlight remains bright, tree shadows continue their sway, yet a quiet transformation unfolds inwardly. The fruits of nature, once ripened, carry in equal measure the possibility of abundance or decay. Everything may arrive without reason—love, or its absence. The film’s hushed vitality resides in minute contradictions: in the faint crease of a garment, and in the interval between 16 and 23 millimeters, where perception and comprehension are allowed to come into being. (Yaxuan Dai, translated by Crystal Xinjie Wang)
