Singer-songwriter Nadia Reid performs an intimate solo performance in our Theatre, playing songs from her latest LP, Enter Now Brightness.

Nadia Reid’s Enter Now Brightness is an album of departure and questioning, a reminder that songwriting can transform pain, joy, thoughts, and anger into something new. “I’m so much better off now that it exists,” she says. “Now feels like a new time.”

Moving further from her folk roots, Reid establishes a sound distinctly her own—poised and expansive. The title, drawn from a book passage, evokes light breaking through, the feeling of stepping onto a stage, of life beginning.

A record of great beauty and change, Enter Now Brightness captures Nadia Reid’s evolution, blending textural pop, country-leaning folk-rock, and striking emotional depth. The Guardian describes her sound as “halfway between Haim’s sophisticated pop sparkle and Sharon Van Etten’s full-throated songcraft.”

For the first time, Reid entered the studio without a fully formed batch of songs, relying instead on sketches and ideas that would evolve organically. Alongside guitarist Sam Taylor and producer Tom Healy, she crafted an album that blends beauty, pain, and joy with a sound that moves beyond her folk roots.

Motherhood, too, deeply influenced the record. Reid explores themes of personal growth, sacrifice, and the relationship with her own mother. It’s a record that reflects the stakes of living a creative life while raising a family — a life that can no longer be lived on the sidelines.

With Enter Now Brightness, Reid has stepped into a new phase, shedding the protective layers of her earlier sound. The album’s vulnerability and openness represent a departure from the past, creating music that is raw, honest, and uniquely hers.
