2pm – 4pm | FREE | Brewery Garden | Summer Sundays
The Guns of Navarone is a Lancaster-based ska and rock-steady band playing tunes from the golden early ages of ska – they perform the relaxed and sunny infectious original Jamaican dance music (Skatalites, Don Drummond etc) with an energy that will make you want to dance and move to the groove.
Driven by a rhythm section of Pete French, Colin Blakey, Paul Whitelaw and Jon Moore, the four-piece horn section features the best from the Lancaster and Morecambe music scene – Pete Moser on trumpet, Paul Froggat and Matt Robinson on tenor sax and Becca Pattinson on trombone. Formed in 2000 by Chas Ambler and Pete French, ‘The Guns’ have been playing together for over 19 years, performing across the North-West at local festivals, pubs and clubs. Come down and listen to classics such as ‘Miss Skalculation’, ‘Cornerstone’, ‘Exodus’, ‘Skaravan’ and the rest….
