Republica dominated the charts in the Nineties with the band’s iconic and fiery front woman, Saffron. With their self-dubbed ‘techno-pop, punk rock’ sound. Republica led Britpop wave of female-fronted rock bands including Sleeper, Elastica, Garbage and Lush.

Selling an incredible three million albums and clinching Top Five slots in the UK, America, South America and Europe, their breakthrough single, ‘Ready to Go’, soared to Number One around the globe.

Hotly sought for movies, TV and advertising, ‘Ready To Go’ has been featured in the billion Dollar grossing ‘Captain Marvel’, ‘Yellowjackets’, ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Dua Lipa’s World’ and has been used in more than 300 films and adverts. Cult Horror director Wes Craven selected their hit single, ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ for the soundtrack to his hit movie ‘Scream’ and invited the band to perform at its Hollywood premiere.

No strangers to the live circuit, Republica have recently enjoyed a number of huge festival appearances including The European City of Culture Festival in Serbia, Dubai, Israel, Germany, Isle Of Wight Festival, Victorious Festival, Norway’s Midnattsrocken, Little Orchard, Whychwood, Chalfest, Rebellion Punk Festival, Tom Kerridge’s Pub In The Park and a sell-out UK tour with The Boomtown Rats.

‘Ready To Go’ has received over 27 million hits on Vevo / YouTube as well as amassing over 41 million streams on Spotify.

Saffron has appeared on recordings by some of the world’s biggest music acts: The Prodigy, The Cure, Junkie XL, Gary Numan, Jeff Beck, DJ Carl Cox, Jah Wobble, N-Joi, Mark Moore, St Etienne and The Shamen.

Republica’s first album has been reissued as a Deluxe Triple CD, followed by coloured vinyl reissues of both their albums: ‘Speed Ballads’ for 2023’s Record Store Day in April.

Now it’s 2026 and Saffron and the band are celebrating 30 years of Ready To Go with a 20 date UK Tour!
