Printmaking for Beginners is a short introductory course exploring the basics of printmaking, and includes sessions on different printing techniques to create pattern, tone, and texture. The sessions will involve using various specialist printing equipment such as the printing press, and learning how to produce repeat prints using this. Participants will explore different ways of incorporating colour into our prints and also print on a range of surfaces to explore, experiment and create.

Who is it suitable for?

The class is suitable for absolute beginners and also those with some experience but want to consolidate the basics.

What do I need to bring?

Printing materials and equipment are included in the course fee, but please bring the following:

  • Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Apron
  • Plastic gloves
  • Ruler
  • Tracing paper
  • Sharpie pen
  • Sketchbook if you have one
  • Images you might like to work from

Important information.

There are no sessions during the weeks beginning 29 May and 5 June.
