Doors 7.30pm | Tickets £8.50 | Malt Room

Manchester-based record label Cosmic Glue (headed up by Kendal Calling and Bluedot founder Ben Robinson) lands at Brewery Arts, bringing with them a roster of label signees bridging the gap between Cumbria and Manchester.

Cumbrian cult, experimental post-rock quintet Seven Seals head up the bill for their first local gig since the release of their eagerly anticipated LP Owl Cage, featured on Tim Burgess’ listening party during lockdown. Expect fiery post/punk transmissions with thrift shop-controlled chaos.

Gearing up for their second studio album, disco-punk four-piece, Deathretro join us for the first show in their home country since reforming. Fresh off the heels of their recent post-punk outing ‘Odd Day Off’ which gained support from ‘Apple Music’, ‘TIDAL’ and more. Deathretro craft an infectious melee of rip-roaring guitars, raw vocal delivery and punchy disco-punk energy.

“It could be argued that Deathretro are the country’s best kept musical secret”
– Louder Than War

The Cumbria-raised trio Vacant Weekend make a triumphant return to Brewery Arts following the release of their debut EP ‘Marlboro Reds’ which gained support from BBC 6 Music. With silky jazz-fused instrumentation and funk-laced danceable grooves, complemented by punchy indie vocals, Vacant Weekend are a local band to keep an eye on. Already securing slots at UK festivals, including this year’s Kendal Calling as well as packing out rooms across Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

“I Loved this the first time I heard it, very very funky.”
– Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music

Rounding up the bill we have the latest Cosmic Glue signee emre, a San Diego-raised vocalist, songwriter and producer with musical output that has been described as ‘bubblegum bass’. Heavily influenced by artists such as Charli XCX, Yung Lean, Belle and Sebastian and AG Cook, Emre bridges heart-rending lyrics with danceable beats.

Now residing in Manchester, emre is also a member of Manchester based DieKaiDie, blending the popular and the pretty with the abrasive underground.

Emre has recently released her first single under her solo moniker ‘I Let You’ which will lead into her debut EP ‘Athens’ later this year.
