Becoming Led Zeppelin explores the origins of this iconic group unlike any other and their meteoric rise in just one year against all the odds.

Powered by awe-inspiring, psychedelic, never-before-seen footage, performances, and music, Bernard MacMahon’s experiential cinematic odyssey explores Led Zeppelin’s creative, musical, and personal origin story. The film is told in Led Zeppelin’s own words and is subsequently the first officially sanctioned film on the group.

Directed by: Bernard MacMahon

Written by: Bernard MacMahon and Allison McGourty

Cast: Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, John Bonham

Trigger Warning: This film contains a flashing light sequence that may affect viewers susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.

“It’s hard not to head-bang along to the first authorised documentary about the heavy rock legends” The Guardian

“In telling the story the film succeeds – the photos and archive footage of the musicians playing at a young age is charming” York Calling

“Becoming Led Zeppelin abounds in such electric moments, with songs played in full rather than chopped up.” Financial Times

“There’s a whole lotta love for those initial glory days.” Rolling Stone

“bask in this wonderful slice of history written by the winners, an ascent as rip-roaringly exciting and properly loud as any in the classic-rock pantheon.” Mojo
