We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic performers to join Brewery Youth Theatre Company to perform in the National Theatre’s Connections Festival. This is a brilliant opportunity for young people who love acting!

Connections is the National Theatre’s yearly nationwide youth theatre festival. Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays to be performed by young people, bringing together future theatre-makers in an exciting event.

Brewery Youth Theatre is creating a play called Remote written by Stef Smith. It will be directed by members of the company and Emily Baxter, the Engagement Officer for Theatre at Brewery Arts. In Remote, seven teenagers’ lives intertwine in a park on an Autumn evening, but all is not what it seems. Remote is a powerful play with themes of protest, power and protecting yourself.

Emily says “It’s a fantastic opportunity for young creatives in Cumbria to work and devise dynamic theatre together. We will be performing in Brewery Arts’ Theatre, as well as at the prestigious York Theatre Royal. It’s such a fun project to be involved in and the play is really exciting too!”

Age: 15-19yrs
Rehearsals: Thursdays 7-8.30pm from Nov 11 (with extra dates closer to performance)
Show dates: 1st-3rd March 2022 & 5th-7th April 2022

There’s still time to get involved! To be a part of this incredible theatre opportunity, contact Emily Baxter emily.baxter@breweryarts.co.uk or sales@breweryarts.co.uk
