Last month, our Brewery Youth Dance (15+) group headed to the Lowry in Manchester for a weekend of dance at the U.Dance North West Festival. 25 youth groups from across the region took to the Quays Stage, showcasing their incredible choreography.
Throughout the day our young dancers took part in various workshops with different dance professionals from across the North West and prepared for their performance in a technical rehearsal. The weekend provided our dancers with an exciting experience of performing in a professional setting to a live theatre audience.
U.Dance Regional Platforms, take place across the UK, offer exciting performance and workshop opportunities to thousands of young dancers each year. Dance North West acts as a Regional Platform for the National U.Dance Festival, organised by One Dance UK.
Emily Davies, Brewery Arts Engagement Officer for Dance said “This was a really great opportunity for our young dancers to work with different dance artists, try new styles and perform at another professional venue. It’s fantastic to watch them gain even more performance experience and create more dance memories – it really bonds them as a group as well!”
