October 2020 Update

We are delighted to announce we have been awarded £237,000 by Arts Council England as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund to help face the ongoing challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

This grant comes at a critical time for us. Having lost almost £1m of income due to Covid-19 this year, this funding will help the organisation rebuild over the next six months, and continue its mission to support exceptional art and culture for the community.

Miriam Randall, CEO & Artistic Director, said:

“This really is a lifeline for us and I am incredibly grateful. Although our venue is currently open, our visitors and our income levels have dropped by 80% due to Covid-19. This grant gives us some security for the next six months while we rebuild our business, preserve jobs, support artistic work, and provide a resource for the local community. Thank you to Arts Council England, DCMS, HM Treasury, and all our supporters for providing much-needed hope for our future.”

Our current activities across film, creative learning, community outreach and exceptional dining will continue, with safety measures throughout the venue and dedicated staff to help you make the most of your experience

We will announce further plans soon, including streamed performances, community projects and new talent development opportunities for the next generation of creatives.

Thank you to all our customers, visitors, followers, partners, colleagues, artists, supporters and well-wishers for your loyalty and encouragement.

Thanks to your continued support, the show will go on!
