Local Produce Takes Centre Stage at Brewery Arts Bar & Restaurant

Published on 6th May 2025

Head of Hospitality Paul Jones, along with new Head Chef Chris Hibbert and his team, have created a colourful, vibrant new menu that celebrates the best of the Lakes.

With local produce at its heart, the menu is made for sharing – from crowd-pleasers like loaded fries to drinks in the sun with selections from Lakes Brew Co. and Stainton Wines. For warmer days, try our refreshing iced tea from Kendal’s own Penningtons. This spring brings even more reasons to visit, with extended opening times, unbeatable midweek value, and a fresh new menu designed for everything from family get-togethers to pre-cinema bites. Whether you’re dropping by for the first time or a familiar face, we can’t wait to welcome you.

From Sunday 11 May, we’re opening our doors every Sunday – just in time for lighter evenings, laid-back lunches, and garden gatherings. Food will be served from 12-6pm, with the bar open until 7pm, pouring new local beers and fresh summer drinks like our iced coffee. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore our bold, seasonal flavours. Bring your friends, find a spot in the beer garden, and enjoy a relaxed Sunday with great food, great company, and a taste of what’s to come.

Paul Jones says: “It’s been a great project to finally bring the best local artisans to one of the oldest and best venues in Kendal.”

Enjoy great local food midweek – on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-8pm, our £10 Pizza & Burger Menu offers freshly made dishes full of flavour and quality ingredients. If you’re visiting the cinema, show your same-day ticket and we’ll treat you to a free drink with your meal – the perfect pairing for a relaxed evening out.

We believe great food and drink starts close to home. We’re lucky to have some incredible makers right here in Kendal. Our menus champion local produce and partnerships, from fresh bakes by Sweet Treats and The Bakery at No.4 to sips from Tirril, Gan Yam, Farmyard Brew Co, and more. The character of the Lakes runs through every pint we pour, every handmade dessert we serve, and even our pizza dough – made in-house with locally brewed pale ale. Our wines come from Stainton Wines, who’ve been serving the Kendal community for over 50 years, and our coffee from the award-winning Penningtons.

With the support of Paul and Chris, these changes are designed to enhance your experience. Come and join us – with every bite and sip, you’re supporting a network of passionate local producers. To book a table, visit.
