Open call – Community Art Project
Join us to stitch a bird to form a collective flock to celebrate diversity and community cohesion as part of this year’s Unity Festival coinciding with National Refugee Week. We want as many people to get involved as possible, whether you are a school, community group, craft group or individual. Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary.
What to do
Stitch a bird on a piece of Cotton or linen 12cm by 12cm. Submit it along with your name, group (if part of one) and a message of what your community means to you.
Finished birds should be submitted by post or to the box office by the 1st June to Amy Williams, Brewery art Centre, 122a Highgate, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 4HE.
See the work on display on 22nd June for Kendal’s Unity festival. #commonthreadsart
