THE KENTMERE HORSESHOE

Adults with a reasonable degree of fitness and some previous experience of fellwalking. Leaders reserve the right to refuse acceptance onto the walk if they have concerns about any individual’s fitness to do the walk.

About 13 miles/21km; 3700ft/1130m of ascent
 

The horseshoe at the head of the Kent valley is one of the great walks of the Lake District. However, if the weather is very bad the route will be changed to a lower level one including the passes (Gatesgarth, Nan Bield etc.)
 

Meeting place In front of County Offices

Meeting time 9.20 for 9.30 start.

Need Sturdy walking boots; full waterproofs (top and over trousers); warm clothing (including hat and gloves); food and drink sufficient for a day out in the hills
