You have a life time of experience, more than enough to fill a book. This friendly, informal workshop with award-winning author Janni Howker, is designed to help you put pen to paper to share your adventures, misadventures and memories.
If you have a desire to write and to share your work then come and join this workshop to participate in practical exercises and receive supportive feedback.

There are no additional costs.
You will need pens, paper and a notebook.
Bring your glasses if you need them.

During the course you will learn:
-Some practical techniques that will help you open unexpected windows on memory.
-Explore the craft of writing in a highly supportive workshop.
-Complete exercises that will raise your awareness of elements of poetry and prose that will help you to confront the blank page confidently.
Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced writers who are interested in sharing their experiences of life in writing.
Access and facilities:
Most of the Brewery is accessible for those who consider themselves to have a disability. There is a lift to all floors within the main building and adapted toilets. On occasion classes may take place in Room 14, with access via stairs only. Audio Description (AD) is available in Screen 1. Infrared audio system is available in both Cinema Screens 1 and 2. Induction loops (T) are in place in the Theatre, please ask for assistance on the door.
Some live events may carry strict age restrictions, these are outlined on our website. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times during evening events.
