About Paul Currie, Katie Read & The Lakes Distillery

Paul Currie is a man steeped in whisky knowledge and experience. Born in to the industry Paul, with his father, went on to establish the hugely successful Arran Distillery in 1995 – the first new independent distillery in Scotland for many decades. Then around four years ago Paul, on holiday in the Lake District, looked around at the magnificent landscape; the lakes, the peaty foothills, the pure air, and realised this really was perfect whisky country …and that’s how The Lakes Distillery was born.

Katie Read will joining Paul to host the tasting of the first ever British blended whisky, The ONE. “Women are finally starting to take ownership of the spirit and discovering it’s a sophisticated drink. All of us girls have our own signature perfume – why not have a signature drink?
