Vin Garbutt: Teesside Troubadour (E) 83mins

Cinema |
9th December 2012

Vin Garbutt is a legend of English folk music. His trademark blend of traditional reels, passionate protest songs and zany patter has won him legions of fans across the world. And he has achieved this, not with any major backing or media profile but with non-stop touring and word of mouth. Now, after 40 years on the road, Vin’s unique story is told in this definitive documentary. Filmed in Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Europe and in his native Northeast, it combines fly-on-thewall, unseen archive and live concert footage plus candid interviews. Teesside Troubadour is typically Vin fascinating, philosophical and funny!

Director Craig Hornby will present the film and talk about his experiences of being out on the road with Vin and the processes he went through in making the film. If you're a fan of folk music, this is one evening you cannot afford to miss!

Live Music: See Vin Garbutt Live in the Malt Room at the Brewery on Saturday 6th December from 7.30pm, All tickets £12.50 – Click here for more info.
