VERVE 14

Dance |
15th March 2014

The postgraduate performance company of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Four thrilling contemporary dance works choreographed by acclaimed artists Lea Anderson, Ben Duke, Gemma Nixon & Jonathan Goddard, and also emergent artist Jamaal Burkmar.

Verve promises a dynamic and passionate performance by 12 dancers trained at some of the world’s leading conservatoires.

Lovers of both dance and music will be enthralled by Burkmar’s Ocean, an incredibly passionate, fast-paced work for all 12 dancers. Duke’s creations effectively combine theatre and dance; his meticulous characterisations helping his company win the most recent edition of The Place Prize, the UK’s most prestigious prize for dance. Anderson returns after charming both regular and new audiences in 2011 with her quirky and stylish work. And completing the programme, ex-Rambert dancers Nixon & Goddard bring years of experience as dancers at the top of their game to create their first work for Verve.
