One of the hottest bands on the US roots music circuit, since first taking America by storm in 2013 The Stray Birds have gone on to win a huge fanbase following triumphant appearances at big festivals around the world such as Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival, MerleFest and Tonder. Their last album, Best Medicine, won them even more praise from the critics, and radio exposure from presenters such as Bob Harris at BBC Radio 2 who declared: “When the next album comes out, we'll see them elevated into a kind of folk/bluegrass superstardom.”
That next album will arrive in 2016.
Last year they were flown in to the UK for a main stage appearance at Cambridge Folk Festival where they became one of the outstanding successes of the event and were filmed for the Sky Arts TV coverage.
Presenter Mark Radcliffe told viewers they were “one of the hits of the event,” and added: “Everyone was talking about them – I know you’re gonna love them.”
