THE POOZIES

Music |
13th November 2014

The Poozies are an all-female band that perform folk music from the English and Scottish traditions. The band play traditional and self-composed material. They are Eilidh Shaw, Mary MacMaster, Mairearad Green and Sally Barker.

They began their career in 1990 and in various guises have enjoyed great success wherever they have travelled. This inspirational band of women is reinforced by energetic vocals and guitar, faultless fiddle playing, delicately dextrous accordian, and mellow harp playing. Their close vocal harmonies intensify the songs drawn both from the rich vein of Gaelic culture and other genres.
