Lip Service & Oldham Coliseum present
The Picture of Doreen Gray

Award winning LipService Theatre return to the Brewery Arts Centre. Doreen Gray has it all, a drive time radio show, a high ratings lifestyle programme on Even More 4, but hitting 50, Doreen finds her face no longer fits the bill. At a school reunion she stumbles across a youthful self portrait and makes a dark and dreadful deal. Featuring community actors as Doreen’s school mates live on stage and on film.

“It really is quite some time since one has seen a theatre audience enjoy such total participation in every aspect of a show” -Public Review (Inspector Norse)

“The Laurel and Hardy of literary deconstruction” The Guardian

Call out to community actors

Award-winning Lip Service are regular visitors to Brewery Arts Centre with their often bizarre, and always comic, interpretations of classics.  Now they’re turning their attention to Doreen – rather than Dorian – Gray!  They’re looking for willing members of the community to perform live on stage in this show. There will be 4 rehearsals a few days prior to the performances to rehearse 4 musical numbers as well as developing material, which will be filmed for inclusion in each of the performances.

We are looking for a team of 20-30 people (mix of young and old, ages 17+).

Rehearsals: 18th Feb 7-10pm, 21st Feb 2-6pm, 26th Feb 8-10pm

Performances 27th & 28th Feb 8pm

So what is the show about?

Doreen Gray has it all, a drive time radio show, a high ratings lifestyle programme on Even More 4, but hitting 50, Doreen finds her face no longer fits the bill. At a school reunion she stumbles across a youthful self portrait and makes a dark and dreadful pact with the picture.

How do I get involved?
