18 Sep – 4 Dec | 6.30 -8.30 pm | Tutor Jamie Barnes | £126 (10 weeks)
A relaxed and informal course dedicated to discovering the secrets and stories in 20th-century art and linking how they relate to the present day.
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
This is a leisure course with plenty of opportunity for discussion and debate. Each week the tutor will deliver a short talk on the main theme followed by a look through a series of images relevant to the topic. This will allow further understanding of the topic and a chance to talk more about details of certain key images. Then, after a short break, there will be a ‘feature spot’. This is a shorter session in which we will deal with another topic related to the main theme or use this section as a chance to go deeper into the main topic. The tutor will also use quizzes and use video footage to aid learning.
This first course will cover The Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood, Impressionism, Realism, Futurism, Art Nouveau, Expressionism, Constructivism, The Camden Town Group, Cubism & The Bauhaus
