Inspired by the Westmorland Gazette’s Bike and Hike webpage, St. Thomas’ Primary School have really raced ahead with this one! Teachers were so excited by the Yarns in the Yards project they didn’t just want one year group to be involved but the whole school! Working with artist Sue Gilmartin, each year group has created their own themed and woven artwork, using bright colours and an amazing array of materials including ‘yarn’ made from the Westmorland Gazette. Look out for the dramatic display in Wainwright’s yard.
