Expand your knowledge to converse more freely in a wider range of topics to suit your interests. More grammatical structures will be covered in a light-hearted and enjoyable approach to Spanish with students encouraged to develop all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).

This course is suitable for those who have completed a beginner’s class or learnt some basic Spanish in the past.

What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?

At the end of the year you will be confident in talking about yourself and family, use descriptions, talk about the weather and make plans with Spanish speaking friends, use the past and the future tenses.
Games and activities allow for a fun and informal environment and you will have the opportunity to learn grammar, a useful tool that will give you the know-how to use the language.

There will homework set every week.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Describe your daily routine
  • describe your house
  • describe people
  • describe minor ailments and understand the prescription
  • describe the weather
  • make arrangements to go out
  • make a phone call
  • talk about your future plans
  • talk about the past

Please note there are no classes on the following dates:

26 to 30 October & 16 to 20 November 2020

About the tutor

Pilar Valera graduated in Politics and has taught for more than 20 years from beginners to advance level. Exam and non-exam courses and a range of ages and abilities. She is from Madrid and although she lives in Kendal she runs study-breaks in Spain for adults and summer courses for children.

Please note that this is a continuing course, with BLOCK 2 following BLOCK 1. Places on BLOCK 2 will be prioritised for those enrolling in BLOCK 1.
