This class is not suitable if you have no knowledge of Spanish.
This is an introduction to Spanish for learners who have no prior knowledge of the language, or who have picked up a few Spanish phrases and want to expand on this.
This course will enable you to communicate in Spanish at a basic level in a range of everyday situations.
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
By the end of the year, you will be confident in going to a Spanish speaking country and getting by in Spanish when ordering food and drinks, travelling, booking a room, or introducing yourselves.
Games and activities allow for a fun and informal environment and you will have the opportunity to learn grammar, a useful tool that will give you the know-how to use the language.
By the end of the course/workshop you will be able to:
- introduce yourself
- book a room in a hotel
- ask for a train to a specified destination
- shop for food
- order food and drink in a café & restaurant

Please note there are no classes on the following dates:
Autumn term: 21 to 25 October & 11 to 17 November
Spring term: 17 to 21 February

About the tutor
Pilar Valera graduated in Politics and has taught for more than 20 years from beginners to advance level. Exam and non-exam courses and a range of ages and abilities. She is from Madrid and although she lives in Kendal she runs study-breaks in Spain for adults and summer courses for children.
