Sivananda Yoga, one of the branches of Indian Hatha yoga, is medium paced and suitable for all abilities. The aim of this practice is to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
The fundamental aspects of Sivananda Yoga are proper breathing (pranayama), exercise (asanas), relaxation (savasana), diet (vegetarian), positive thinking and meditation (vedanta and dhyana).

The asana (yoga posture) system will be varied by the instructor in each pose depending on the students’ level of fitness.

Each week the instructor will build on the previous week’s practice to develop those attributes of understanding, breath awareness, strength, focus and relaxation.

Students who are open to modifications will be gently guided in practice.

Physical, mental, medical issues should be communicated to the instructor at the beginning of the term.
